I received my personal training certification from the Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas in the spring of 2006, but I have always had a self motivating attitude towards fitness. I have been training regularly since I was 17 when I wanted to get in better shape for High School ice hockey and tennis.
After competing in sports successfully in High School I went on to the University of Oregon where I studied Environmental Science and Creative Writing while playing ice hockey. In Oregon I became involved in many sports I hadn’t tried before such as boxing, rugby, martial arts, and running. I also was able to do things there that I have been passionate about since childhood such as skiing, snowboarding, tennis, and hiking.
I have had a lot of experience with sport specific training, but I enjoy getting people involved in fitness at all levels. My personal philosophy and the best advice I could give to others is to keep their training fun. Having fun is the key to a fitness programs success and feeling good and looking good are the rewards. It is important to me that my clients look forward to their time in the gym with me, otherwise I haven’t done my job properly.

Workouts:
Some of my favorite exercises would have to be pull-ups, medicine ball push-ups, and cleans. My favorite workouts are usually sport specific such as playing ice hockey or tennis, but I also enjoy the weight training programs I design for myself, Crossfit workouts, plyometric workouts, the grapplers circuit, and an interval workout I’ve designed that involves sprints up Snow King.
